Powerbox is a harmless enemy and object who appears in Contrabobo. They hail from Contra.
Origin[]
Powerboxes were originally items in the NES game Contra. They were originally called Sensor, however, in the English version of Contra, they were instead called Phil Box Sensors.
In The Game[]
Powerboxes appear throughout the Jungle and Waterfall sections of Contrabobo, with three of them appearing in the former section while two more appear in the latter section. They can open periodically, revealing the Red Falcon's insignia. Like Powerups, they contain powerup weapons inside of themselves, and can only be hit once by Abobo, which will explode upon explode and drop their powerup weapon for him to collect. They have more items in them than the Powerups, which include the Flamethrower, Machine, Spread, and Lemming Guns respectively. With the exception of the Flamethrower Gun (which are contained in the two individual ones in the Jungle section), they will individually contain only one of the four powerup weapons. They're health bar doesn't appear upon defeat, with the exception of the one that appears in an area of the Jungle section where Abobo encounters Jason Voorhees at (though it rarely ever happens).
Death[]
Killed By
Abobo shot and defeated him with a simple hit, releasing a powerup from them. He can also instantly defeat them by using his Rage Move Bombs Away.
Trivia[]
- Powerboxes are one of the few enemies in Abobo's Big Adventure to not attack or harm Abobo in any way. This is because Powerboxes are supposed to be items, which also applies to Powerups.
